Following, we offer some suggestions and guidelines so your stay at Los Roques will be a completely pleasure experience, without ignoring the regulations that manage the National Park.

Particulars
• Always use biodegradable sun blocker since at Los Roques the incidence of solar rays is greater because its reflection in white sands.
• It is recommendable to use beach footwear to avoid scratches as a result of the big amount of coralline remains in the sand.

Activities
• It is important to keep updated about zones classification due to the fact that they set or restrict the activities and the access to some keys. For more information click here.
• Harpoon fishing is prohibited since it damages the marine fauna and drives away fishes, impoverished marine communities.

Environment and Conservation
• Place the garbage in containers at the Gran Roque. Your purposeful contribution will help to preserve the quality of the landscape and in addition, will contribute to lighten the difficult task of litter collection.
• Since it is imperative to protect the variety and multiplicity of bird species, do not visit islands where birds are nesting or hatching and do not encourage pilots to fly low over the islands.
• Do not anchor boats and walk on low coral reef, dive and snorkel carelessly or extract coral pieces as souvenirs, since fractures produced within the reef lead to bacterial infections and subsequent death of the reef.
• Abstain from buying lobster to fishermen in the off season (from May to October of every year). On the other hand, the sale and consumption of queen conch (botuto) and turtle are completely prohibited.
• Walk through existing paths on keys and do not light fires. This way, destruction of vegetation, seeds, sprouts and any other living organism is avoided.
• Do not feed aquatic or terrestrial fauna, since a dependency from a foreign food source is created, with the consequent change in his natural behavior.
